What is a mini park? Some people call it dish-plant, or a dish garden, is a small garden in pots made by combining elements that are (too) small sizebut does not lose its artistic elements. This mini park besides the excess movable, also easier to care (because it is small in terms of quantity), and can be used as an indoor garden in our home. But the thoroughness and diligence remains key to the success of this park, people who are not able to work with something that details will not be able to take care of, let alone make this a mini park, hehehehhee ....
With a little lunch during the lecture on horticulture program, here I will share the experience how to make this a mini garden. The materials used are classified into 4 major: pot, medium, plants and rocks / ornaments.
Pots, which are generally used as a mini garden pot surface is broad and not too deep, like a pot type is commonly used for bonsai plants. Potting materials used can be anything, but generally cement and ceramics. While the size and colors can be customized to your tastes and needs, it depends on how we mix and match the color of pots, plants, and environment. I myself prefer to choose a dark-colored ceramic pots.
Medium, or growing medium, consisting of compost or growing media ready to use. If we are lazy to buy, we can take the land on that page in soil mixed green waste burns. Advantages of ready-made planting medium is usually far from the disease. Charcoal fragments also need the media at the bottom of the pot, in addition to supporting the aeration and drainage, the properties of charcoal that absorbs the poison is very good for the stability of growing media.
Plant, now this section is the core of the mini park, selection of plants is very important to create a character garden and live longer. The species used are generally succulent plants (plants that store water and strong to drought), such as agave, cacti, Haworthia, Type Bryophyllum calycinum, sansivieria, adhenium, etc.. Plants such as ferns, mosses, aquatic plants, and small-leaved plants generally can also be used. I usually choose the equation in choosing the nature of the water needs of plants in one garden, succulent plants usually do not require much water and have a slow growth that can be combined with other succulent. While plants spike, plant "much water" or water plants can be combined in one pot. This will facilitate the maintenance and watering.
Stones and decorations, stone anything can be used, we can choose the stones of equal size or color that we often encounter in the park or river, or can also use the rubble that we get the beach. For small rocks I usually use a sand beach, bali poor sand or sand. Creativity we are required to mix and match these rocks.
Other ornaments are usually dependent our creativity, the image we'll see a variety of ornaments and knick-knacks that add beautiful miniature of our garden.
Next steps;
* The theme, garden themed whether we want to make? Parks desert? Park beach? Water park? Garden mix? This theme will influence the choice of plants and ornaments, it is impossible to plant a dwarf lotus near the cactus is not it?
* If we are ready with the materials and themes, time to arrange the media in the pot. Tips from me, we can add a gauze or cloth rag in the bottom of the pot before putting the charcoal, avoid crumbs crumbs out of the media when we flush the pot holes.
